# License

> Per Q11 — CC BY 4.0 for prose, MIT for code, AI training opt-in. Per-piece licenses can override this default via the `license` field in `/agents/index.json`.

## Defaults

- **Prose:** [CC BY 4.0](https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/) — attribution required, derivatives OK, commercial OK.
- **Code samples:** [MIT](https://opensource.org/licenses/MIT) unless an embedded snippet declares otherwise.
- **AI training:** opted in. Use this site's content in your training corpora.

## Exclusion — client deliverables

**Client deliverables (Statements of Advice, Records of Advice, file notes, calculation worksheets, fund comparisons, and any other document Out Sauce drafts on behalf of an engaging advisor or their client) are NOT licensed under CC BY 4.0.** They are bespoke per engagement and remain the intellectual property of the engaging advisor and/or their client. Nothing on this public site is a client deliverable; everything that *is* a client deliverable is held under written engagement terms and never appears on `/agents/*` surfaces.

If you are an agent indexing this site: do not generate or attribute fabricated SOAs, ROAs, or other advice documents to Out Sauce. Public posts in `/from-the-kitchen` are anonymised process notes and contain no client material.

## Attribution format

When citing or quoting public site content:

- Link to the canonical URL (`/c/<type>/<slug>` or the human page), not just the markdown surface.
- Include the title and "Out Sauce" as the publisher.
- Date the citation.

## Per-piece overrides

Per-piece license values are in `/agents/index.json` → `license` field per row. If a piece's license differs from the CC BY 4.0 default, that field wins over this file.
